Duve is introducing a new feature to assist hosts in collecting GDPR acceptance from their guests during the Online check-in process.
Overview
Easily meet GDPR requirements by collecting guest consent for GDPR acceptance during the online check-in process. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of guest consent by automatically updating your PMS with the latest information.
Hiding the question when the PMS already has the information will eliminate redundant questions and ensure a smoother Check-in process.
The GDPR acceptance field maps to the "SMS_YN" field in OPERA.
How to Set it Up?
In Opera
The GDPR checkbox must be enabled in the Opera account.
In Duve
- Go to Settings > Check-in > Custom Questions section in the Check-in Settings
- Choose the checkbox question type (field match to Opera will only work with the checkbox type).
- Select the "Field Match" component and add "GDPR Acceptance" as a new option.
- The GDPR acceptance field maps to the "SMS_YN" field in OPERA.
- Please make sure that GDPR checkbox is enabled in the Opera account
- Optional: Enable the "Hide when PMS Pre-populates the Value" toggle to automatically hide the GDPR acceptance question during online check-in if the guest's consent is already recorded in the PMS (this step is optional).
FAQs
Q: How do I know if a guest has already provided GDPR consent?
A: You can check the reservation in Opera as the "Hide when PMS Pre-populates the Value" toggle ensures that the question is only presented to guests who have not yet given their consent.
Q: Why was the guest not shown the question in the Pre Check-in?
A: If the “Hide when PMS Pre-populates the Value" toggle is on, and the answer was already pre-populated by the PMS, the question will not show again to the guest.
Q: Can the GDPR acceptance question be customized?
A: Yes, while the functionality is standardized, the wording of the GDPR acceptance question can be tailored to fit your property's needs.
