Overview
When a host writes a guest a message via the Communication Hub or sets up a Scheduled Message, Duve has implemented the following flow in the backend to ensure delivery of the message. The guest must 'opt-in' to receive the messages from their Host.
If a guest has not communicated with the host via WhatsApp in the last 24 hours, Duve will request from the guest to open a new WhatsApp session.
If the guest would like to receive the Host's message, they will click 'View Messages'. Then the guest will receive the messages that was sent by the host.
From this point forward, the guest has allowed the host to free text message them for a 24 hour period. If the guest responds to the messages sent from the host, this 24 hour period keeps getting extended.
If a guest is already in communication with a host, the message is sent directly as free text.
Template message to open the Session:
Logs and Monitoring-
- Template Sending: A Log will appear when sending the initial WhatsApp session request template.
- Session Activation: A Log will appear when a guest activates a WhatsApp session via the template.
- Delivery Failures: A Log will appear for any failures in message delivery, providing details for troubleshooting.
- Host Interface: Indicators showing the message status ("waiting for guest approval") and tooltips displaying message content for host visibility.
- Message hour: The hour that appears in the message matches the host company settings timezone.
