Duve allows you to control which guests can view a post in the Guest App by applying filters and conditions. This helps ensure your posts, such as instructions, promotions, or informational content, are always relevant and personalized.
Step 1: Open the Visibility Settings
When editing or creating a post, select "Edit" which will lead to the "Post Is Visible To" section to configure who can see it.
Step 2: Select a Filter
You can filter post visibility in three ways:
- Standard posts - visible to all guests
- Guests with specific tags (e.g., VIP, Early Check-in, Family)
- Guests in specific rooms (ideal for room-specific instructions)
Choose the filter based on how broadly or narrowly you want to target your audience.
Step 3: Add a Condition (Optional)
In addition to the visibility filter, you can narrow the post visibility even further using conditions.
Click on "Add Condition" to show the post only to guests who meet specific criteria.
Available Conditions:
-
Adults / Children / Babies: Family size breakdown
The number of guests, broken down into adults/children/babies, comes from the guest reservation page.
- Agent: Show only to guests who booked through a specific agent
- Arrival by: Filter by transportation method (e.g., car, plane)
- Birthdate: Use for birthday-related offers or special occasion targeting
- Booking source / Booking source second label: Target guests from specific OTAs or direct channels
- Check-in Options - Present all "Check-in options"
- Custom questions - Based on pre-arrival form answers
- Floor - Room’s floor number
- Guest Country - Country of origin
- Guest Email - Exact match
- Guest purchases: Display upsells only to guests who purchased a specific product
- ID / Passport - Filter dependent on guest completion of the Required Documents step
- New! In-house condition
- Last stay - Date of last stay
- Marketing source - Campaign or channel attribution
- Membership: Show exclusive offers to loyalty members
- Nights - Length of stay in nights
- Number of stays: Tailor offers to first-time or repeat guests
- Payment - Based on payment status
- Plan type: Filter by Rate Plan (e.g., Room Only, Half Board, etc.)
- Pre-check-in / Pre-check-out - Based on guest completion of online forms
- Reservation Status - Confirmed, In House, Canceled, etc.
- Room tags - Target by room-specific tags (e.g., VIP, Penthouse)
- VIP code: Restrict to guests with a designated VIP code
These conditions can be layered for even more precise targeting.
Final Step: Save the Configuration
Once your filters and conditions are set, click “Done” to save. The post will only appear for guests matching all selected criteria.
Best Practices
- Use tags for operational segmentation (e.g., by package, source, or language group)
- Combine filters and conditions for high precision
- Preview visibility using a real or test reservation to confirm everything works
