Some properties prefer to align upgrade charges with how guests are billed in the PMS—especially for longer stays. If you’re using Duve with an OHIP PMS connection, you now have the option to apply room upgrade upsells as a fixed nightly charge, rather than a one-time fee.
✨ What’s New?
When creating or editing a Room Upgrade Upsell, you can now choose how the upgrade fee is applied:
One-time fixed charge (default behavior)
Fixed charge per night (new option — OHIP PMS only)
When selecting Fixed charge per night, Duve will:
Divide the upsell amount by the number of nights in the reservation
Push a separate nightly charge to the guest folio in the OHIP PMS
Display the total calculated amount to the guest before the guest adds the amount to their bill
This helps hotels align folio postings with stay length, reduce reconciliation errors, and improve billing clarity for both staff and guests.
How to Set it Up
Go to Upsells > Create or Edit a Room Upgrade
Scroll to Advanced Options
Locate the new toggle and enable: “Frequency”
Host Experience in UI
The Upsell is shown in the Fixed Charges section.
Example
Let’s say you offer an upgrade for $100, and the guest is staying for 5 nights.
One-time charge = $100 added once
Fixed charge per night = $20 per night, posted each night to the PMS folio
FAQ
Q: I don't see the “Frequency” toggle. Why?
A: This toggle is only visible for OHIP PMS-connected accounts. If you’re using a different PMS, it won’t appear.
Q: Can I apply this to other upsells like late checkout or services?
A: No, the feature is only available for Room Upgrade upsells.
Q: What happens if the guest shortens or extends their stay?
A: Duve does not automatically recalculate the per-night charges. You’ll need to manually update or re-apply the upsell if needed.
