Overview
The Quick Check-Out flow provides a fast and simplified way for guests to complete their check-out when the only required action is payment or confirming that everything is already settled.
Instead of going through the full Online Check-Out process, guests using the Guest Check out billing link are redirected straight to payment (if needed) or directly to a confirmation screen.
This feature is ideal for properties that want to reduce friction, offer a smoother exit experience, and trigger automated post-checkout messages.
*Note that a prerequisite for this flow is an integration with a payment processor for credit card connection.
How the Quick Check-Out Works
1. Guest experience
Guests enter the Quick Check-Out flow only when they access the system using the "Guest Check out billing link" dynamic parameter.
This link can be sent via:
Automated pre-checkout messages
Manual communication from the host
Any custom workflow where the host chooses to share the link:
2. When Payment Is Required
If the guest still has an outstanding balance, they are redirected immediately to the secure payment page.
Key details:
No additional steps or questions are shown
Once the payment is successfully completed, the guest is taken to the new confirmation screen
3. When No Payment Is Required
If the guest does not owe a balance (because it was already paid or there was none to begin with), they are taken directly to an “You’re All Set!” confirmation page:
The above page includes:
The property logo
A short confirmation message
A button to return to the Guest App
*This page is not part of the standard Online Check-Out wizard.
New Trigger: “Guest Completed Quick Check-out”
A new scheduled message trigger is available to help hosts automate follow-up communication.
When does it fire?
The trigger fires only when a guest reaches the Quick Check-Out confirmation page (“You’re All Set!”).
It does not activate based on actions inside the regular Online Check-Out wizard.
What can hosts use it for?
This trigger is ideal for:
Sending post-checkout instructions
Sharing recommendations and local services
Requesting reviews or ratings
Offering loyalty or return-stay promotions
Update reservation status in PMS
Configuration is done directly inside the Scheduled Messages settings.
How Quick Check-Out Interacts with the Standard Online Check-Out
Quick Check-Out is treated as separate from the regular Online Check-Out process.
This means:
Completing Quick Check-Out does not count as completing the normal Online Check-Out
Reporting, automation, and flows tied to the standard check-out remain unaffected
FAQ
Do guests need to complete the full Online Check-Out to use this?
No. Guests bypass the entire Online Check-Out wizard when they use the billing link.
Is the Quick Check-Out always shown to guests?
No. It only appears when the guest accesses the system using the Guest Check out billing link.
Will guests see feedback questions or confirmations?
No. Quick Check-Out skips all additional steps and goes directly to payment or confirmation.
Does Quick Check-Out also update the PMS?
Yes. When the guest reaches the confirmation page, Duve triggers a PMS status update (if supported by the PMS).
Can hosts still send a post-checkout message?
Yes. Hosts can configure a scheduled message using the new “Guest Completed Quick Check-out” trigger.
