Overview
The Sync Reservation URL is a ready-made link that Duve generates on your Oracle Hospitality Opera Cloud (OHIP) connection page. You copy it once and embed it in Opera Cloud on the reservation screen. From then on, a front desk agent looking at a reservation in Opera can open that link and Duve immediately pulls that one reservation from Opera again and refreshes it in Duve.
It exists for the moments when waiting for the next scheduled sync is not good enough. Someone corrects a guest's email at the desk, changes a room, or fixes an arrival date, and the guest needs the updated information in Duve now. Instead of asking support to run a sync, the agent opens the embedded link on the reservation and Duve refreshes that reservation on the spot.
Two things to know before you read on:
- It refreshes one reservation, the one open in Opera. It is not a full sync of the property.
- It shows nothing. A successful call returns an empty page. That is normal, and it is not a sign that the sync failed.
How to Set It Up
Duve Setup:
Go to Settings > Connections page and click on the OHIP Connection.
Set up the IP addresses in the field to ensure that the link is only usable from the relevant hotel IPs, which are being used in the hotel.
Finding the hotel/user/device IP: https://whatismyipaddress.com/
You can add more than 1 IP, and the links will work. Please note that all IPs have to be added manually.
Copy the relevant link from Duve's OHIP connection page:
OHIP setup:
Step 1 - Enable Customization Mode
──────────────────────────
1. Log in to OPERA Cloud.
2. Click the side menu and select Settings.
3. Under Customization, select Hub/Property Level.
4. Click Save.
You will see a customization banner appear at the top of the page confirming that customization mode is active.
Step 2 - Open a Reservation
──────────────────────────
1. From the main menu, go to Bookings > Reservations > Manage Reservation.
2. Search for any reservation and open it by clicking the Confirmation Number.
Step 3 - Add the Duve Flex Link
──────────────────────────
1. On the reservation overview page, click the gear icon (⚙️) on the right side of the panel where you want the link to appear.
2. Click Add Field > Flex Field > Add Link.
3. A new window will open. Fill in the following:
• Text: Sync Reservation (or any label your team prefers)
• Destination: Paste the URL provided by Duve in this field
• Displayed: Yes
• Launch URL Mode: New Browser Tab (recommended)
• Then click the </> button and click Evaluate:
• Then Apply:
4. Click Save.
5. Click Close Customize.
• Duve looks for the reservation in your account, matching the booking number against the reservation's external identifiers and requiring the arrival date to match the reservation's check-in date. Canceled reservations are excluded. If a match is found, Duve calls Opera for that single reservation and runs the result through its normal sync, so the reservation record in Duve is created or updated exactly as it would be during a scheduled sync. On success Duve returns an empty response with no page and no redirect. There is nothing for the agent to read or click.
Step 4 - Disable Customization Mode
──────────────────────────
1. Go back to the side menu and click Settings.
2. Under Customization, select Off.
3. Click Save.
Use cases
- A guest's email address or phone number is corrected at the desk and you want the guest app link and messages to go to the right place immediately.
- The reservation is moved to a different room in Opera and you want Duve to show the new room, access codes, and key details right away.
- Arrival or departure dates are changed and the guest's automated messages need to be rescheduled at once.
- Guest details were added in Opera after the reservation first synced, for example the guest profile, address, or a special request.
- A field agent reports that Duve is showing stale information for one specific reservation, and you want to rule out a sync gap without waiting or opening a support ticket.
- Before a VIP arrival, an agent wants to confirm that Duve holds exactly what Opera holds.
Troubleshooting
- The agent gets a "Bad request" and nothing happens: Work through the causes in order: the link is missing a parameter, the property's IP is not on the allowlist, the arrival date in Opera does not match the reservation's check-in date in Duve, the reservation is canceled, or Duve has never synced that reservation.
-
It worked for one property and not another: Each OHIP connection has its own
sId. A URL copied from one connection will not sync a reservation belonging to another. Copy the URL from the connection that owns that property. - It fails only from some computers at the property: The property is going out through more than one public IP. Add every address or range to the Allow upsells page from IP's field, or clear the field to accept any IP.
- The page is blank: That is a success. Check the reservation in Duve to confirm the details updated.
- Nothing changed in Duve after a successful call: Duve pulled the reservation again and saved what Opera returned. If a field is still wrong, the value in Opera is the one to check, not Duve.
- The link only works for arriving reservations: Duve matches the reservation using the arrival date carried in the link, so a link opened on a reservation whose Opera arrival date has been changed since it last synced can fail to match. Refresh the reservation screen in Opera first so the link carries the current arrival date.
