StayNTouch - Payment Type Identification & Routing – Duve

Overview

Payment Type Identification & Routing helps hotels automatically tailor payment flows based on how a booking will be paid. For StayNTouch (SNT) connections, this capability is not supported in Duve.

Duve does not identify StayNTouch payment methods (for example, OTA virtual cards, corporate or house accounts, direct bill, cash on arrival) and cannot route guest flows or payment actions based on a payment type from StayNTouch.

Duve does support:

StayNTouch reservation syncs
Live folio calculations
Posting Duve-originated payments back to StayNTouch
A rate-plan exclusion behavior that can set the live folio rent to zero for specific StayNTouch rate-plan codes or names

The rate-plan exclusion does not mark a reservation as paid, change guest payment collection, or alter the check-in flow.

Use case

Exclude agent-paid rate plans from the calculated live folio rent so room rent shows as 0 in Duve (does not affect payment or check-in flows)

How to set it up

Setup is done on the StayNTouch connection page, using the rate codes excluding method

StayNTouch connection page

Open the StayNTouch connection page in Duve.

In the "Rates that skip payment" field, add the rate codes you want excluded from automated collection.

Save the connection settings. Reservations that arrive on those rate codes are then excluded from automated payment collection.

What the exclusion covers

Only the primary rate component is excluded from the folio payment request.
Any additional items or incidentals the guest adds remain the guest's responsibility to settle.

Related behavior: Live folio and agent-paid rate plans

Duve calculates a live folio by reading StayNTouch reservation and bill data, including payments and charges, to display a running balance in Duve.
If your property uses specific StayNTouch rate plans for agent-paid or prepaid bookings, Duve can set the calculated live folio rent to 0 when those rate-plan codes or names are matched.
This does not mark the stay as paid, suppress guest payment collection, or change online check-in behavior.

Troubleshooting

If you expected a booking to skip payment in Duve because it is agent-paid, note that SNT payment-type routing is not supported. The guest payment flow will not change based on the SNT payment method.
If the live folio rent does not appear as 0 for certain agent-paid rate plans, confirm that the affected reservation's rate plan in StayNTouch uses a code or name that matches your configured agent-paid rate plans.
You can still collect payments in Duve and have those payments posted to StayNTouch. However, these actions cannot be driven by the SNT payment type.

Restrictions & Limitations

Not supported:
- Identifying SNT payment methods or payment codes in Duve
- Any routing rules or automations based on SNT payment type
- Mapping SNT payment codes to Duve payment types
- Routing to different payment processors based on SNT payment type
- Reporting or filtering by SNT payment type or routing outcome in Duve
- There is no Duve console UI to configure SNT payment-type routing
Supports: Rate-plan exclusion only affects the calculated live folio rent and does not change guest-facing payment or check-in flows

Tips & Tricks

Use the agent-paid rate-plan exclusion when you want room rent to display as 0 in the live folio for prepaid or agent-billed bookings, and keep in mind that this is a display-level behavior only.
Keep your agent-paid rate-plan codes and names consistent in StayNTouch so the exclusion matches reliably.
If you need payment flows to differ by booking source or payment method, plan for this outside of the StayNTouch integration, since Duve cannot read the SNT payment type.

FAQs

Q: Does Duve identify StayNTouch virtual cards from Booking.com, Expedia, or other OTAs?

A: No. Duve does not import or classify the reservation's payment method or virtual-card status from StayNTouch.

Q: Can we skip payment collection or allow online check-in automatically based on an SNT payment type?

A: No. SNT payment-type-based routing and check-in decisions are not supported in Duve.

Q: Can Duve recognize corporate or agent-paid SNT reservations?

A: Not by payment type. Duve can set the calculated live folio rent to 0 for specific SNT rate-plan codes or names, but this does not change payment collection or check-in flows.

Q: Does setting a rate plan as agent-paid in SNT mark the booking paid in Duve or prevent a charge?

A: No. It only affects the calculated live folio rent displayed in Duve and does not alter payment routing or guest flows.

Q: Does Duve receive SNT reservation updates?

A: Yes. Duve synchronizes reservations with StayNTouch and can post Duve-originated payments back to SNT. This does not include payment-type-based routing.
