The Duve Guest App, a personalized web app, holds all of your guest's important information for their stay including reservation details, check-in information, arrival instructions, content and upsells.
Overview of the Guest App:
The Guest App Sections and posts are visible to the guests in their Guest App. All content can be created using Sections, Posts, Banners, and different widgets.
The visibility of all content can be customized using tags, brands, and rooms/rentals.

To start building content, click 'New'
Sections:
Sections can be built in one of 3 formats - Image carousel, Image list and Simple List
Each section can contain pages and/or upsells.
To edit an existing Section, click on the 3 dots on the right and click edit. In addition, you can Hide the section, export, and delete a section from there ➝
Setup Tip: A section can not be moved on top of a group of posts. In order to add posts to a section, the posts must be dragged under a Section.
Banners:

In order to drive a certain call-to-action from your guests, easily add a banner that stands out in their Guest App.
A Banner entry contains
- Banner Icon
- Title - Name of the banner
Add a short and engaging message and customize the color of your banner to match your brand. Set up a link to forward your guests to an external page or add a link that will forward the guest to a different Guest App post.
With an external link, click 'Open a new tab' to forward the guest outside the Guest App when they click on the button.
Open External Links Embedded in the Guest App
By default, when a guest taps a link in the Guest App, it opens in their browser, taking them out of your Guest App. With an embedded frame, the link opens inside the Guest App instead, in a full-screen window layered over it. The guest stays in your branded experience, and closing the window brings them straight back to where they were.
This is useful for links you want to feel like part of the Guest App: a booking engine, a spa or restaurant reservation page, a partner service, or a form you’d rather guests complete without leaving.
This feature is controlled by a feature flag. If you don’t see the Embedded frame option, reach out to your Customer Success Manager to have it enabled for your account.
How to set it up
- Open any item where you configure a link (link post, button block, banner, or shortcut).
- Under Open link in, choose Embedded frame.

Before you can use it, the link’s domain must be added to your trusted domains list under Settings → Advanced → Security. This is a one-time setup per domain. If you select Embedded frame for a domain that isn’t on the list, Duve will prevent saving and show you a note with a link to the right settings page.
Good to know
- The embedded window always includes an Open in browser option in its header, so guests can switch to a full browser tab at any time.
- Some websites block being displayed inside another app. When that happens, the Guest App shows a short message with an Open in browser button instead, so the guest can still reach the page.
- Only secure (
https) links can be embedded. Any link that can’t be embedded simply opens in a new tab as usual.
Map
Add a Page in a Section:
Create a new post by clicking on the “+ Add page” and then clicking on the “Post” option.
When the Post page opens, you can add a cover photo, title, and conditions and create blocks. Emojis can also be inserted into this field using copy and paste.

Upsells:

Upsells can be created from the upsell page, and the image inserted there will reflect in the Guest App.
The Upsell's image and title that appears in your Guest App will be set according to your setup in the Upsell
Add the upsell to your Guest App by clicking on the “+ Add page” and then click on the “Upsell” option.
The upsell will appear with the title, the dollar icon, copy icon on the right, the trash icon, and the duplicate option.
Widgets:
Select one of the Widgets offers, according to your preference - Map, Recommended Upsells, Room Upgrade
The “Map” widget will include the new map component showing
- The property's location
- If the Account is set to Hotel, the address will be taken from the brand's Settings
- If the Account is set to VR, the address will be taken from the rental location
- All coordinates and addresses added inside existing Guest App posts
Add Recommended Upsells
A new section called Top Picks for You will be created with a list of all the existing upsells. To edit the order of the upsells list, click here.
Please note: this widget is only available for customers using the Premium plan.
Add Room upgrades (only for Hotels)
When selecting the Room Upgrade offer, the Room Upgrade upsell will be presented as a carousel with all the room upgrade images and prices to your guests.

Guest Experience:
Styles:
The Styles page provides the ability to customize all the elements of your Guest App such as:
- Logo image
- Brand color
- Font
- Images
- Shortcuts
The Styles page affects only the Guest App setup. All branding of your emails as pre-check-in emails, confirmation emails, pre check-out emails will be set from the Branding page.
Customize each brand with the cover photos, brand color, and images.
Before publishing your Guest App, make sure to finalize the styles here.
You can add multiple cover images to appear in a carousel view, and you can also adjust the sizes of the cover image. Edit any fonts, logos, colors, and more.
Now it's your turn! Go to your Guest App and start building a Guest App that your guests will thank you for.
Tips & Tricks:
- Moving sections in the Guest App will include all content in that section. Drag and drop the section title to move content.
- Move individual posts by drag and drop between sections.
- Adding upsells or Room Upgrades to your Guest App will only be available in the Guest App editor if there are already existing services in your Duve account.
