Duve has introduced a new Preview Message feature for SMS and WhatsApp messaging, allowing hosts to test their communication workflows more efficiently. This enhancement simplifies the testing process, enabling hosts to send test messages directly from the Scheduled Messages page to any phone number. By providing a clear and streamlined experience, this feature helps hosts easily test Duve’s messaging capabilities.
Note: Charges for WhatsApp and SMS messages apply to all messages sent through the platform, including Preview by Host messages. As these messages are part of the communication process, they are billed like any other, even if not delivered directly to a guest.
How to Use?
Use the Preview buttons at the bottom of Scheduled Messages to send a preview of the chosen WhatsApp template.

How to Set It Up

Access the Scheduled Messages Page:
- Navigate to the Scheduled Messages section in Duve.

Enable Test Messages:
- On the Scheduled Message page, locate the SMS and WhatsApp checkboxes.
- Next to these options, click the new "Preview" button.

Send a Test Message:
- Input a phone number to receive the test message.

Monitor for Errors:
- If the phone number is invalid or the destination is unsupported, the system will highlight the error.

- Note: The preview option for whatsapp is only available for WhatsApp templates, not custom messages.

Another method - Create a Test Reservation in Duve and send the WhatsApp templates:
How to Send A WhatsApp template to a guest:
Open the Chat and select WhatsApp as your channel. To find the templates to send manually, select WhatsApp and then go to ‘Add A Canned Response’

Select WhatsApp Templates tab > Click on the desired WhatsApp template:
Click Send for the WhatsApp template to send to the guest.
How to Test WhatsApp templates
Follow the steps for How to Create a Test Reservation in Duve and ensure to include a phone number to receive the WhatsApp template:
Note: Add required fields in order to create the test reservation - First Name, Room Allocation, At least 1 guest & Reservation Dates.
Choose the Desired WhatsApp template and then click Send.
Important:
- Please check on your phone and through the Duve Communication Hub that the message is sending properly to the guest
- Check to ensure that all languages which are set up in the WhatsApp templates are sending correctly with the proper inputs from the Dynamic Parameters
- Please ensure that the dynamic parameter has an input when you are testing the template
- For example, if the template has {{pmsExternalID2}}, your test reservation has to have that value also so the template will work
