Duve now supports a new payment collection method that enables properties using Nexi (Concardis) to authorize a guest’s payment in advance and capture it automatically on the check-in day. This method ensures better payment control while improving guest experience.
Overview
If guest completes online check-in within 7 days before check-in:
- ✅ The system authorizes the payment at that moment
- ⏳ Schedules an automatic capture on the morning of the check-in day (default: 6:00 AM)
If guest completes check-in on the check-in day:
- ✅ Authorization and capture happen simultaneously
To get access to this feature, please inquire with Duve Support or your dedicated Customer Success manager.
⚙️ How It Works
Go to Settings → Check-in → Guest Billing →
Set Payment Collection Method to "Authorize and Hold Payment"

🚨 Errors & Handling
Event | System Behavior |
---|---|
❌ Authorization fails | Guest is prompted to use a different credit card |
❌ Capture fails | Host receives a notification (guest is not alerted automatically) |
❌ Both attempts fail | Guest is blocked from completing check-in, host is notified |
🗂️ Reservation Logs & Tracking
All transactions are clearly recorded:
- After online check-in: Status appears as “Payment Authorized”
- On the check-in day (after capture): Updated to “Payment Captured”
These statuses are shown inside the Order Page for each reservation.
✅ Best Practices
- Ensure the correct PSP (Nexi) is selected before enabling this flow.
- Confirm that authorization errors are actively monitored to avoid check-in disruptions.
- Capture time (6 AM) can be adjusted based on operational needs – please contact Duve support for changes.
🔧 Troubleshooting
Problem | Suggested Action |
---|---|
Guest cannot check in | Check authorization or payment error logs |
Host did not receive notification on capture failure | Verify notification settings in admin |
Payment method reverted to “Immediate” | Confirm if FF was toggled OFF or PSP changed |

Does this work with mews pms collecting the payments?
Hi Erick! At the moment, this feature is only supported for our customers using Nexi (Concardis) PSP. We hope to add other PSPs to support this functionality soon!
