In this article, we will share with you the best practices for creating a "Mid-Stay cleaning" Upsell.
In the "Upsells" manage page, you can "Add new" > "Custom service":
Duve offers a "Mid-stay cleaning" upsell template, which is advised to use as a base for your Mid-stay upsell
Scenario #1 - Mid-Stay Cleaning Once Per Stay:
If you want to offer your guest this scenario, this is how you set it up.
The scenario will be set as a "Single product" and a "Simple price". The "Minimum units" are not necessary to mark (could be either '0' or '1') and the maximum units should be '1'.
Note: If you want to make sure that this upsell will be used once per reservation, you can add a condition that only guests who did not purchase this Upsell can view/order it:
Scenario #2 - Mid-Stay Cleaning - Multiple Service offerings in one Upsell:
You can offer your guests the option to book the Mid-Stay cleaning by choosing the areas/products that will be cleaned - if they desire to save time and money.
This scenario will be set as a "Multiple product" and each item will be set with a different price. In this scenario, it is preferred to set the "Minimum units" as empty (could be either '0' or '1') and the maximum units should be '1'.
Scenario #3 - Allow guests to book Multiple Mid-Stay Cleanings in one purchase:
If you want to sell this Upsell as a Multiple product, you can set the "Maximum" units to a High number and add mandatory "Custom questions" (that will be marked with "Required answer"), which can add further information from the guest.
The scenario will be set as a "Single product". The "Minimum units" are not necessary to mark (could be either '0' or '1') and the maximum units could be a higher number, of your choice:
For example: "On which days you would like the cleaning service?".
Scenario #4 - Mid-Stay Cleaning per Brand/Tag:
You can set that Mid-Stay cleaning that will be available for rentals/rooms per specific Tag and/or Brand. The purpose of this is to allow hosts to be able to configure different services for each tag or group of rentals based on the size of the room/rental.
For example - a service for a Mid Stay Cleaning for a 1 bedroom apartment will likely be cheaper than a service for a 3 bedroom apartment.
In this situation, you can exclude rentals/rooms that don't need the use of the Mid-Stay cleaning option. The Availability and Pricing Setup can be modified as similar to one of the other scenarios.
Scenario #5 - Mid-Stay Cleaning - Conditioned Based on Length of Stay:
In this case, you can condition the appearance of the upsell to the number of nights on any reservation.
The recommended is to use the "Minimum" or "Exactly" number of nights, and only for those reservations, the Upsell will be available.
- The Availability and Pricing Setup can be modified as similar to one of the other scenarios.
Scenario #6 - Free Mid-Stay Cleaning:
Mid-Stay cleaning can be set as a "Free" product.
The Availability and Pricing Setup can be modified as similar to one of the other scenarios.
This scenario is advised to be used only for a minimum of 3+ nights, in order for not all 1-2 nights reservations guests will order this Upsell.
If you want to make sure that this upsell will be used once per reservation, you can add a condition that only guests who did not purchase this Upsell can view/order it:
