Duve lets you control which guests can see specific upsells in the Guest App. This ensures that each guest sees only the most relevant services or offers based on their booking profile or status.
This article explains how to configure product visibility settings for upsells.
Step 1: Access the Visibility Settings
When editing or creating an upsell, select "Edit" which will lead to the “Product Is Visible To” section to set the display logic.
Step 2: Choose a Filter
From the dropdown under Filter by, you can choose how broadly the product is shown:
- Standard product – visible to all guests
- Guests with a specific custom tag (e.g., Corporate, Returning)
- Guests in selected rooms (ideal for room-specific or package-relevant offers)
This sets the base audience for the upsell.
Step 3: Add Conditions (Optional)
To refine visibility further, you can set conditions. The product will only be visible to guests who meet the condition(s) you define.
Available Conditions:
- New! In-house condition
- Agent: Show only to guests who booked through a specific agent
- Arrival by: Filter by transportation method (e.g., car, plane)
- Booking source: Target guests from specific OTAs or direct channels
- Birthdate: Use for birthday-related offers or special occasion targeting
- Guest purchases: Display upsells only to guests who purchased a specific product
- Membership: Show exclusive offers to loyalty members
- Number of stays: Tailor offers to first-time or repeat guests
- Plan type: Filter by Rate Plan (e.g., Room Only, Half Board, etc.)
- VIP code: Restrict to guests with a designated VIP code
These conditions can be layered for even more precise targeting.
Example Use Cases
- Offer Late Checkout only to guests who booked directly via your website
- Display a birthday gift package to guests with a birthdate during their stay
- Show a private driver service only to VIP guests with specific codes
- Promote room service upsells only to guests in premium suites
Final Step: Save & Confirm
Once you’ve chosen your filter and any desired conditions, click “Done” to save.
