In this article, we will go over the check-in options that will appear to your guests in their online check-in wizard.

How to set it up?
There are a few default templates already setup in the system for you. You can use them as is or edit them, or create new ones.
Traditionally hotels and hostels will have one Check-in option, which is the Reception check-in. While in Aparthotels or Vacation Rentals agencies there could be many different Check-in options depending on the day of the week, hour of the check-in, or the property itself.
Important: Smart Early Check-In is not a regular check-in option, and it shouldn’t be added here. Because it is determined based on your real time availability, the setup is in a specific setting page dedicated only for Smart Early Check-In.
Add a new Check-In Option (or edit a default)
To start the setup, go to Settings >Check-in > Check-in Options
Create a new Check-in option or Edit a Default Check-in option:
Consider the following fields:
- Description
- Booking Options
- Time frames and prices
- Payment options
Description
Here you are able to edit or add the description of this check-in option.
First, add your "title" which will be shown as the title of the option for the guest, such as Reception Check-In or Self Check-In.
Then, add the description which will be shown below the title.
For example, if it’s a Reception Check-In, you should write what the guest needs to bring to the check-in (i.e passport, credit card, etc.) and details about how it will work (timing, location etc.).
Another example is Self Check-In, where you can write what the guests need to complete before arriving to the rental, how are they going to receive the keys or code to the door, etc.
Like other Duve features, you can write the text in your own language, and afterwards the system will translate it to all the other supported languages. Just don’t forget to click on the Translate button (it may appear only after saving the check-in option and re-entering the page.)
Booking Options
Below, you can choose one of these 2 options:
- Instant booking is when you set your system to be ready for the guests to book the room straight away, without your approval.
- Require approval will be the option that you need to confirm manually the guest booking, you will be able to approve based on your room.
Time frames and Prices
In this section you need to edit at which days and hours this specific check-in option is available.
For example, in Reception Check-In, you should choose the starting hour from when your check-in starts, until the morning of the next day (for example to account for guests checking-in in the middle of the night). Another example could be for a Meet & Greet Check-In, in apart-hotels or vacation rentals, that is only available until the evening.
You can also add a price for specific check-in options, for example, let your guests choose from a self check-in with no costs or personal check-in with an additional cost. Another option is to have a check-in option free until a certain hour and with cost after a certain hour.
Payment options
If you added a cost for a check-in option, under the payments options you can set how the guests will be able to pay for it. Either by credit card, cash or for hotels ‘Add to hotel bill’.
To enable:
Once you enter a check-in option, on the top right you can always enable, disable, delete and save the option.
Guest Experience:
When the guest arrives to this page, it is a required field to complete within the Online Check-in.
Once the guest first selects the time, only the relevant check-in times for that time will show. Then the guest can select the relevant Check-in option and continue in the Online Check-in.
