The Pre Check-in email templates are now more personalized than ever before. Our online check-in email editor allows hosts to design personalized emails that reflect your brand, or use Duve's existing template.
Getting Started
You can either use Duve's template or edit the design to create your own.
The current format of the Pre Check-in email has been updated according to your Branding.
Your Logo, Cover image and Brand Color will be automatically reflected in the Pre Check-in Emails that Duve will send to your guests.

The current formatting of the Pre Check-in email has been adjusted according to your current Branding settings. Your Logo, Cover image and Brand Color are automatically reflected in the Pre Check-in Emails that Duve will send to your guests.
Your Logo will be added at the top and your Cover image is added at the center. Your Brand Color will be reflected as the outline color and button color.
If you want to use the PreCheck-in email as is, please ensure to hit 'Translate' on both the subject line and text body of the email before activating the email.
How to Customize
In Check-in, click on the General tab. Click 'Edit' on the desired email communication to start editing.
Important: If you click to enable the Pre check-in automated Emails, the system will start sending the Pre Check-in Emails to your reservations. Do not enable until you are ready to send the communication to your guests.
Editing your Pre Check-in Email
Start with adding a new subject line or update the schedule for when the Pre Check-in email should be sent out.
Select 'Edit' in the Email Template section on the right to open the editor.
When creating your own email, drag & drop content blocks
Clicking on a content block within the Preview will open the left side menu for further editing capabilities. These blocks can be duplicated, moved or deleted from within the email itself.
Content Block Types:
- Text: A content block that allows the host to insert written information.
- Button: A content block that enables users to interact with a linked website
- Image: A content block that displays visual content such as a list of images (includes JPG, PNG, and GIF)
- Divider: A content block used to separate or create a visual distinction between sections or elements within a webpage within the email editor.
- Product: A content block to add your upsell services or Room Upgrades to guests
- Adjust the Layout to card or list of all the upsells offered in your account
- If adding multiple Custom Products, add them in the list and adjust the order according to your preference
Adding/Replacing Images and GIFs
The dropdown will show:
- Logo
- Cover
- File Upload - upload images and GIFs, only JPEG and PNG file types are supported
Click on a content block to edit it in the side panel
Free Text Boxes & Button
When choosing free text boxes, you may use the templates Duve has provided, or create your own text to display to your guests. Use dynamic parameters to embed your emails with guest information and Duve links.
The 'Start Online Check-in' button is editable by color, size and text. Click on the content block within the preview and the menu will open to edit the content block.
Edit the 'Reply above this line' text:
When creating emails from a blank template, you can now edit the header or remove it completely!
Background Color:
Click the background section icon ס to select your desired background color. It will allow you to select the background color for the text box in your email editor.
If the entire email is selected, you can set the background color by default for the entire email. To edit the background color for a specific block, select the block and then add the background color.

Translations
Don't forget to click 'Translate' so that your subject line will be translated as well.
After you complete all the text for the email, click 'Translate' to translate the text into all languages.
Subject Line
To add a dynamic parameter to your Emails' Subject Line, go to your email and open the library and select your desired Dynamic Parameter.
Click Translate and Save to ensure your updates will reflect on all languages.
Preview
Once finished, click save & send yourself a preview
Select 'Save and preview' to be sent a copy of the finished design to your email. Use the previews to see the current
Once creating your own custom email template, you can always select either sending Duve's default or your own template.
Ready? Save and Enable!
Re-do the steps above for each reminder emails. Once all your emails are set, enable pre-check-in automated emails!
Important Notes:
- Pre Check-in email can be edited by desktop only and not from a mobile device
- Extra Brands - The pre check-in email can be specified per brand and can be overridden in the Brand Level Settings
- It is not possible to duplicate blocks and move them around, and you cannot condition specific blocks
- Product Blocks
- If a Smart Tool is added to an Email, but is not available at the time that the email is sent to the guest, the email will not include the service
- If a Smart Tool is added to an Email and is available at the time that the email is sent out, the email will include the service
- However, if the guest recieves the email with the service and the service becomes unavailable, the guest will be forwarded directly to the guest app
To deactivate Email Reminders
To deactivate email reminders, select either the second or third reminder email by clicking on 'Edit' and select email status as inactive for the reminder email.
Select the "Done" button to save.
Important Notes
- If your guests email is an alias email address containing Booking.com or Airbnb.com email address, the custom subject line does not apply. The Structure will be 'Upcoming Booking.com reservation - For Guest Name at 04-05 Sep 2023 in City'
